LOUIS VUITTON LAUNCHES V&A STORE

One of the most memorable events to hit the V&A Waterfront was the opening launch of the Louis Vuitton store. Our brief was to transform one of the shopping mall entrance areas into a LV encounter zone.Guests were treated with valet parking on arrival, a red carpet experience and bubbly with caviar all night long.

We used a combination of panelling and fabric to block out any traces of the V&A shopping mall building.Materials were refined to the exclusive colour palette and signature LV icon.A feature was the customised LV logo produced from astroturf and duco-sprayed to the unique gold colour. This work of art was positioned at the entrance and wowed guests who were naturally dressed to the nines.

As another interpretation of the elite logo we die-cut a combination of the LV monogram and the trademark flower motif produced from acrylic, sandblasted and suspended them from the roof overhanging one of the atriums. These were such a hit that the V&A centre management requested that they remain for another 3 months after the event.

Guests including TV personalities, dignitaries and other A-list celebrities and the stylish Edith Venter enjoyed music, food and socializing in the lounge area adjacent to the store entrance. We created an in vogue ambience true to the elite brand using a variety of ottomans covered in a combination of warm and neutral tones. The conversational tables were white illuminated rectangles or squares and doubled up as additional seating.Window shopping was another item on the agenda as fashionistas coveted the luxurious range of in-store products.Promotion only was the order of the evening, or was it...?
